MCA had added a curly cue design above his head. The poster originates from the collection of famed disc jockey ‘Mr. Ed’ Lambert. Ranked among “The 100 Best Covers” by Rolling Stone magazine, the iconic image captures the legendary hip-hop trio playing basketball, one of their favorite past times. Weeks before the issue hit stands, the band had returned after a four-year layoff with ‘Hello Nasty’, a career-summary record that has been certified 3x Platinum in the U.S. In the Beastie Boys Book, Ad-Rock said he felt that ‘Hello Nasty’ was their "best record".
