Julius Wagner-Jauregg (1857-1940) signed & inscribed in German this Christmas postcard. Inscription loosely reads "Meine Besten Wunshe Weihnachten Gnuss " which translates to "My best wishes for Christmas and New Year, Enjoy". Nicely matted alongside a 7" x 5" B&W photo of the noted physician. Also includes an LOA from Beckett/BAS.

Wagner-Jauregg was an Austrian physician who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine in 1927, and is the first psychiatrist to have done so. His Nobel award was "for his discovery of the therapeutic value of malaria inoculation in the treatment of dementia paralytica".
