Offered here is an Original 8" x 10" 1978 UPI Type III Wire Photo with an incredible bold autograph from Pete Rose. PSA Auto Grade 10 - Rose further inscribed "Hit #42" onto the photograph. 1978 would be the Baseball's All-Time Hit King & Cincinnati native's final season of his original and first 16-season tenure. The entire Queen City and Sports World was abuzz, as Rose had not only joined the illustrious 3000 Hit Club on May 5th of this very same season (of 1978) in a Reds home game at Riverfront Stadium, but Rose also had an incredible 44-Game Hit Streak. This streak remains the longest NL Hit Streak of the 20th century. The photograph details all outfield layers of the historic home of the Reds, Riverfront Stadium, as well as the outfield scoreboard which indicate the game situation as well as the hit streak totals of MLBs past, including DiMaggio's MLB record 56 games. Overall in fine condition. Comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA.
