Incredibly Rare, Fully Complete Signed "Rumors" Record Album - The First Authentic Example to Come to Auction in Years!
Often considered Fleetwood Mac's magnum opus, Rumours has frequently been cited as one of the greatest albums of all time. Rumours was an instant commercial success, selling over 10 million copies worldwide within just a month of its release. It garnered widespread acclaim from critics, with praise centred on its production quality and vocal harmonies, which frequently relied on the interplay among the band's three vocalists, and which has subsequently inspired the work of musical acts in various genres. It won Album of the Year at the 1978 Grammy Awards and received Diamond certifications in several countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia, and the US, in where it is certified 21× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). As of February 2023, Rumours has sold over 40 million copies worldwide and is not only a tremendous commercial success but a defining masterpiece of the incredible 1970s rock movement.
"Rumors" stands as one of the rarest signed albums in all of collecting. With Stevie Nicks being one of the most difficult and reclusive signers since the early 1990s, only a handful of complete and authentic examples of this album have ever surfaced, and it has been many years since a fully authenticated example has hit the auction block.
That all being said, we are honored to offer this "Rumors" album which has been signed in blue and black permanent marker by Fleetwood Mac Original band members; Stevie Nicks (inscribed “To Steve”), Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, and John McVie. There is a minor bit of paper loss in the upper right proximity, likely from the removal of a record store price label, and some minor handling wear, otherwise the album stands in overall fine condition. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
