One of the Earliest Signed Rush Items in Existence!
Here is a stunning 1976 official Mercury Records large format promotional photograph vintage signed by Rush. Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson have all signed beautifully in blue ballpoint. The photo also references SRO Management, Rush’s long-time management team formed in 1973. The oversized photo measures 8.5 inches x 11 inches and is in excellent condition. The photo was produced in support of the highly popular “2112” album. With the definitive line-up in place, Rush's record label tried to pressure the members into molding their next album in a more commercially-friendly and accessible fashion; the band ignored the requests and developed their next album “2112” with a 20-minute title track divided into seven sections. Despite this, the album was the band's first taste of significant commercial success as it reached No. 5 in Canada, becoming their first to reach double Platinum certification. This was the onset of Rush’s worldwide popularity and creative peak. Signed Rush promotional photographs from this early period are exceedingly scarce and desirable and this is a stunning example.
