Signed document, approximately 8" x 11", one page, October 5, 1872. Acting a President, Grant authorizes the Secretary of State to affix the official U.S. seal to a warrant for the pardon of Henry Smith, who had prior been convicted of passing counterfeit money. The document is filled out in another hand and then handsomely signed by President Grant in black ink. Well preserved and in overall fine condition. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
