PAte was well known in show business for over 4 decades. Over his long career, he and his wife Clarine Pate obtained a large collection of personal items belonging to numerous entertainers. Janet Jackson left this stage jacket behind after a live appearance in the 1990's where it was found by a venue employee who later gave it to Pate as they knew of Pates collecting interests. It has been in Pates collection ever since and is in very good stage worn condition
