This is the only officially recognized rookie card of "Mr. Hockey," Gordie Howe, and it's the cornerstone of the set. Howe made his NHL debut at just 18 years old in 1946 and dominated the league's offensive records until Wayne Gretzky emerged. Over the course of his remarkable career, Howe placed in the top five in scoring for 20 consecutive years and tallied at least 23 goals per season for 22 straight seasons. His ability to maintain elite performance for such an extended period earned him legendary status, much like Nolan Ryan in baseball. Howe captured six Hart Trophies as the league’s MVP and participated in 23 NHL All-Star games. From 1948 to 1955, he led the Detroit Red Wings to seven consecutive first-place finishes in the regular season—a record that remains unmatched.
