Incredibly Rare Group Signed Album - Signed At the Band's Album Release - 3 Days Before the Tragic Plane Crash!
Here is an impossibly rare 1977 MCA Records first vinyl pressing of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Street Survivors” album, signed on the inner gatefold by Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Allen Collins, Gary Rossington, Leon Wilkerson (who has added MANSTER), Artimus Pyle, and Billy Powell. All seven bandmembers have signed beautifully in black ballpoint pen. The fan who acquired the signatures notes the date of the signing (October 17, 1977) in the upper left corner of the gatefold, and has also noted the dates of their deaths alongside Van Zant and Gaines' autographs.
The album was signed on the day it was released, at a record store meet and greet in Altamonte Springs, Florida, on October 17th, 1977, and just three days before Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ill-fated flight bound for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The resulting crash took the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve and Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, and pilots Walter McCreary and William Gray. An altogether incredible and highly displayable album signed by the entire band just days before their tragic, career-altering flight – a true rock and roll rarity. Included are several modern prints of the October 17th meet and greet.
