Dusty Hill's Beloved "Cowboy Bass" Guitar - Used Extensively on 1990-91 Recycler Tour Across the World with Multiple Photo Matches!!
Circa 1990 Gibson archtop bass, serial number 92590, with giant Switchmaster style neck-thru body and Firebird reverse headstock, in all white finish with silver Trini Lopez style diamond insets on body, Hipshot Badass bridge and two humbucker pickups. This bass was used extensively throughout the October 1990 to September 1991 Recycler tour, and numerous photomatches have been made. Dusty literally took this guitar across the world, playing it at dozens of arenas across the globe included Madison Square Garden and Milton Keynes National Bowl in the UK, just to name a few. From the hundreds of guitars in his collection, this stood as one of Dusty's favorites, as evidence of it being seen hanging in Dusty's memorabilia room in the 2019 documentary ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band From Texas (one of approximately a half-dozen that Dusty displayed).
This guitar stands in used condition as expected and showcases excellent road wear. Being a Texas man who loved his belt buckles, extensive paint wear is present on the back side of the body in proximity where a belt buckle would sit.
A terrific, extensively used and unique guitar from one of the most beloved bands in rock history. Accompanied by extensive photomatched documentation and sourced direct from the Dusty Hill estate.
