TLS, one page, 7 x 9.5, FBI letterhead, February 5, 1937. Letter to a personal friend following a previous visit and receipt of a gift. A rare humor coming from the FBI Director, In part: “I want to thank you so much for the very unusual bath ball which you sent me...I can now be assured of no longer having to be a deep sea diver.” In fine condition. Nicely matted along with an image of Hoover and a copy of the wanted posters for Bonnie and Clyde and John Dillinger. Housed in a black matte lacquer finish frame, measuring 36" x 17" overall. Some light handling wear to the frame itself, otherwise fine. Includes a photocopy of a lot letter from PSA/DNA where the letter originates from.
