Presenting an incredible 7 1/4" by 9 1/4" black and white original photograph of Rogers Hornsby during his 1928 campaign with the Boston Braves. In black steel-tip fountain pen, the great Hornsby has penned an inscription that reads: "With best wishes to Gordon Alan From Rogers Hornsby" just to the left of his image which shows him in the follow through of his swing. Few players in the history of the game compare with "The Rajah" when it comes to hitting. One of only 3 men to ever bat over .400, he did so on 3 different occasions, while boasting a lifetime average of .358 which stands second only to Ty Cobb. Hornsby led the National League in hitting 7 times, including a career high .424 in 1924. He is also one of just a few players to win baseball's Triple Crown more than once, accomplishing the feat in both 1922 and 1925. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1942, his first year of eligibility. Deceased in 1963, Authentic signatures of Hornsby are becoming more and more scarce as time passes. Advanced autograph enthusiasts should take advantage of this great opportunity to add such a great piece to their collection by acquiring the offered specimen which is accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
