Partly-printed document signed as president, one page, 13.75 x 16.75, July 8, 1859, matted to an overall size 16 x 20. President Buchanan appoints Robert F. Bradford “a Passed Midshipman in the Navy of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Buchanan and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy Isaac Toucey. Intersecting folds otherwise in fine condition. Comes with a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
