A Substitution of Attorney document in which Lillita Chaplin has requested a substitution of legal representation as it related to Chaplin's divorce, dated April 30, 1935 and signed by both of Chaplin's lawyers, Edwin T. McMurray, and her new attorney, George B. Bush. This document pertains to Charlie Chaplin's divorce from his second wife, teenage actress Lillita "Lita" Grey. When the divorce was finally settled, Chaplin was obligated to pay over $600,000. At the time, this was the largest divorce settlement in U.S. history! The document is well preserved.
