While preparing to film His breakthrough part in "East of Eden", a young and broke Dean borrows $100 from his new employer, Warner Bros

Unique and highly desirable signed document, one page, 5" x 8", April 7, 1954. After being discovered on Broadway, Dean received his "big shot" from Elia Kazan as he was cast in the role of Cal Trask in "East of Eden". While the film would ignite Dean's career to superstardom, at the time of this document Dean was merely a struggling actor. Here in this document Dean receives a $100 advance on his salary for the filming of "East of Eden", with Dean promising to pay back the studio a little over a month after receiving the loan. The document bears a bold and dark black ink autograph from Dean, which has received a solid MINT 9 grade from the experts at PSA/DNA.

James Dean signatures are exceedingly rare in ANY form. Relics such as this, with relevance to perhaps the most critical point in Dean's storied career, are of the utmost desirability. Authenticated, graded and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
