1996 would be a magical year for the New York Yankees, ending a title drought and having a baby-faced rookie of the year in Derek Jeter. Jeter would go on to do a limited edition signing directly following the 1996 season, adding his highly desirable rookie-era signature & rare “ROY” inscription. It also must be noted that due to the verbiage of the contract, Jeter is contractually bound to never sign with just a “ROY” inscription ever again or face litigation. Signed on a Official American League Budig baseball with special “1996 American League Rookie of the Year Derek Jeter” stamping.
