Former Major League pitcher Elden Auker recounted his meeting versus Joe DiMaggio during "Game 38" of the Yankee legend's famed hit streak. Signed by Auker in perfect blue ball-point, he also inscribed the following on the side panel of this OML (Selig) ball: "In game 38 of DiMaggio streak I got him out the first 3 times at bat. He got a hit the 4th time. I could have ended his streak by hitting him or walking him! My goal was to keep him off base.
