Through their first seven seasons, the New York Mets endured what was far and away the most woeful stretch in baseball history. Their resumé reads as follows: five last-place finishes, two ninth-place finishes and five seasons of 100-plus losses. Then, overnight, the 1969 version logged 100 regular-season triumphs, proceeded to sweep the Atlanta Braves in the first-ever NLCS and disposed of the heavily favored Baltimore Orioles in relatively easy fashion in the World Series.

Offered here for your bidding consideration is a Spalding official National League (Giles) ball signed by 23 principals of that "Miracle Mets" squad. This clean and creamy sphere is decorated with blue ballpoint scriptings that project mostly “7" in overall strength. Included are: Gil Hodgers (Manager, on sweet spot), Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Ed Kranepool, Jerry Koosman, Yogi Berra (coach), Donn Clendenon, Don Caldwell, Jack DiLauro, Jerry Koosman, Tommy Agee, Rube Walker (coach), Cleon Jones, Bobby Pfeil, Art Shamsky, Ed Charles, Tug McGraw, Al Weis, Joe Pignatano, Garry Gentry, Jim McAndrew, Duffy Dyer, Cal Koonce and Rod Gaspar. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
