"Joliet" Jake & Elwood Blues would hit the silver screen in 1980 with their classic musical comedy collaboration "The Blues Brothers". Starring both legendary actors John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd, the film would see instant success despite its inflated 60 million dollar budget due to Belushi's antics. With the whole film stemming off of the Blues Brothers' ability to allude the police while attempting to save a Catholic orphanage in which they grew up, this offering couldn't be more appropriate. This original 8" x 10" "The Blues Brothers" French promotional photo features the Blues Brothers & Ray Charles, signed & inscribed in blue ballpoint by John Belushi. Signature & inscription read in full:"Gunnar, Drive Carefully Stay Out Of Jail, John Belushi," across a portion of Ray Charles' piano. Belushi also adds "Jake" over his character, Jake Blue's, right hand. It's worth noting that Blues Brothers items signed by Belushi are rarely ever encountered as the super star was less than two years away from his untimely passing when Blues Brothers was released. Luckily for Jake & Elwood though, they would drive carefully & stay out of jail during the film, most likely because they were "On a Mission from God."
