Having toiled for the lowly St. Louis Browns in his 1953 rookie campaign, Don Larsen headed east as the franchise became the Baltimore Orioles the following year. As he authored a 3-21 mound mark for the baby Birds, it was difficult to imagine the historically significant gem he was to spin just two seasons later. Offered here is a ticket stub issued at Yankee Stadium for what proved to be Larsen's shining moment. This yellow-hued voucher admitted its bearer to Game 5 of the 1956 World Series. From a $10.50 box seat, its original owner witnessed 26 up and 26 down, with a Mickey Mantle round-tripper accounting for all the Bronx Bombers were to need in their 2-0 triumph. With printed seating and event details, the ticket features the home team's stars-and-stripes logo, as well, the familiar insignia an identifier of October greatness throughout history. Adding to the rarity and significance of this already prized relic, the Yankees' legendary announcer who called the game--Mel Allen--has signed along the back side in blue ballpoint pen ink. The ticket does exhibit moderate handling wear along the edges and stands in overall VG condition. Deemed "Authentic" as an original ticket stub by PSA, with additional certification noted on the encapsulation label to verify Allen's autograph by PSA/DNA.
