Widely considered the best two athletes to ever compete in their respective sports, boxer Muhammad Ali and Brazilian soccer star Pele revolutionized the way fans viewed each craft. Ali, a three-time heavyweight champion, and Pele, who scored 1,000 career goals, crossed paths at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Oct. 1, 1977, at a ceremony honoring the soccer phenom, who was playing for the New York Cosmos at the time.
