Pristine TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, June 21, 1937. Letter to a generous patron in Mr. Ralph L. Pope. Letter reads in full: “May I thank you for your generous gift to our museum of the Columbia high-wheel bicycle and the framed pictures of the Pope Manufacturing Company. These articles are a welcome addition to our collection, and I am pleased that you have passed them on to us for safekeeping. Assuring you of my appreciation and with the best wishes, I am Sincerely yours, Henry Ford.” In fine condition with two horizontal slight creases. Ford founded the Edison Institute in Detroit in 1929, with the aim of collecting American history ‘as written into things their hands made and used.’ Today, the museum is commonly known as ‘The Henry Ford,’ and contains exhibits including John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine and Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre. Full letter of authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
