A nice personal check from Hall of Famer Walter Johnson, this one is drawn on The Germantown Bank in Germantown, MD, which was where "The Big Train" lived in retirement after his baseball career had ended. Signed & hand written by Johnson for thirty five dollars to another local bank, 8/10 to 9/10; the 1945-dated check itself presents in seemingly NM fashion, but reveals some of the often inevitable folds and occasional light staining or discoloration. Johnson checks are among some of the most sought-after signed checks in the vintage baseball market. Attractively framed & matted to an overall size of 13" x 18" and remains in fine overall condition.
