Roger Maris to this day is considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball world in 1961 by hitting "61 in 61", eclipsing Mantle & The Babe in the process. With a record that lasted nearly forty years, two MVP trophies, three World Championships (two in pinstripes) & still no nickname, Maris remains a very important figure in baseball history. While his position in MLB history may be cemented, his allure in the autograph world continues to gain momentum. This splendid 8.5" x 11" B&W photo of Maris displays a near perfect signature and inscription in blue ballpoint by the former home run king. Inscription reads: "To Eugene, Best Always, Roger Maris."
