Handwritten and signed 4.75" x 6" note by President James Buchanan, dated 4 May 1962 (just five months after leaving office) from Wheatland, near Lancaster. The note reads in full: "Dear Sir, In compliance with your request, I send you my autograph. Yours very respectfully, James Buchanan." Great piece of evidence that even in the mid-19th century, autograph collectors were prominent! Authenticated an encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
