This official State of New York appointment document, dated March 18th, 1829, has been signed by former President Martin Van Buren (then Governor of New York). It is appointing Nathan T. Arnold as the Inspector of the First Division of Artillery. There is a strip of darkened tape down the back middle of the document that shows through the front vertically, as well as two other horizontal strips along the back that do not show from the front. The tape appears to have been used to reinforce the document along the folds. Some minor tears and dings along the edges, but overall in great condition for a nearly 200 year old document. Accompanied by full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
