Partly-printed, one-page vellum land grant, approximately 9” x 14”, dated September 1, 1824, and signed “James Monroe” by the 5th President of the United States. Via this document, Monroe grants George Deas of Clarke County "the west half of the northeast quarter of section thirty in township eight of range four, east; containing eight acres." The document is also cosigned by the Commissioner of the General Land Office, George Graham. Partially intact Land Office seal affixed. This document is in fine condition overall with 1 vertical fold, 2 horizontal folds, and some light staining. Monroe’s signature is exceptional! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
