Prolific American inventor, held over 1,000 patents including phonograph, movie camera & incandescent blub. Historic sepia-toned full-length portrait photo signed "Thos A Edison" on lower white border, 4.25" x 6", showing a smiling Edison speaking into two radio microphones at West Orange, New Jersey, August 12th, 1927 (the 50th anniversary of his invention of the phonograph). Minor edge creasing. Of historical note, the following is what Edison spoke into the microphones: "This is Edison speaking. The first words I said to the original model phonograph was a little poem that went: Mary had a little lamb, his fleece was white as snow, and everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go." Also of note, Edison was asked shortly afterwards if he liked talking over the radio, his response was "no." A great event with an equally impressive autograph! Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
