American novelist, humorist and social critic, Mark Twain (1835-1910). "Twain" was the nom de plume of Samuel Clemens, who started as a printer and boat pilot, and then began writing humorous short stories. He was encouraged by Bret Harte, and soon authored his first novel, Innocents Abroad. He is best remembered for his novels A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.
Offered is a choice signed 5" x 7" cabinet card by Twain in black ink adding, "Truly Yours, Mark Twain, April 1909, For Elizabeth" on the front. Overall in good condition with trivial toning & mild handling wear. Authenticated by James Spence Authentication with a full letter of authenticity.
