Partly-printed vellum document as president, one page, 10.25" x 15.5", August 16, 1811. Scallop-topped ship’s pass issued to “the Ship Ruselth of New Bedford…To Pass with her Company, Passengers, Goods and Merchandize without any hinderance, seizure or molestation.” Signed at the conclusion by President Madison and countersigned by Secretary of State Robert Smith. The white paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In very good condition, with moderate overall creasing as expected with a 200+ year old document.
