As President, Jefferson would negotiate the purchase of the Louisiana Territory, support the Lewis & Clark expansion/expedition among issuing this Military appointment during his time in Washington. Offered here is a tremendous full & desirable 4.5" x 6.5" free frank boldly signed & hand written entirely by Thomas Jefferson. Overall in fine condition with horizontal/vertical folds & minor discoloration. It's worth noting Free Franks from Jefferson's era are typically not offered complete let alone in the condition of this offering with ruminates of the original mailing seal.
