Roger Maris to this day is considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball world in 1961 by hitting "61 in 61", eclipsing Mantle & The Babe in the process. With a record that lasted nearly forty years, two MVP trophies, three World Championships (two in pinstripes) & still no nickname, Maris remains a very important figure in baseball history.
