This document is dated March 27, 1872, with President Grant ordering the Secretary of State to "affix the Seal of the United States to a Warrant for the pardon of John Miller." Miller's middle initial is scratched out on the letter, apparently a mistake when filling it out. There are small edge separations at the horizontal folds and some minor document wear otherwise. Overall, the piece is in great condition. Signed, partially handwritten, and dated by President Ulysses S. Grant.
