Three MLB commissioners come together in one on this 8.5" x 11" typewritten letter, in which Kenesaw Mountain Landis writes to Ford Frick regarding a conversation with Colonel Larry MacPhail (father to Lee MacPhail) about players leaving the country. Reads, in part: "Dear Mr. Frick: Colonel MacPhail informed me over the telephone today that he did not think there was any law or regulation prohibiting a man in Class 1-A to leave the country. A man who has been given notice of induction, of course, must not leave...Very truly yours, [signed] Kenesaw M. Landis". Landis has signed his name in black felt tip marker. The letter is dated September 17, 1943 and is overall in fine condition. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
