The late months of 1962 would prove to be some of the most important in the United States history. With the Cuban Missile Crisis nearly sending the country into Nuclear War, cooler heads would prevail as the blockade was lifted on Cuba on November 20th. The Crisis wouldn't end there as it would be two days later until the Soviets finally pulled all nuclear warheads from neighboring Cuba. Even years prior to what many believe was the hottest point in the Cold War, Kennedy would recognize the issues with Russia in this offering. This original 1953 7" x 9" Senate letter to Mr/Mrs Cash. Most notable is the content towards the bottom reading "I felt it would be dangerous to reduce taxes at a time when we are carrying the heavy burden of the cold war if it were to leave the government facing another large deficit on top of our present overwhelming national debt." Typically Kennedy was tight lipped with his policies, this letter serves as his thought process for years to come & one of the most important issues of his Presidency. Overall in fine condition with horizontal folds. We guarantee this lot to pass Third Party Authentication (PSA/DNA, JSA, Beckett), and full certification can be arranged for an additional fee.
