On October 16, 1976, Johnny Cash would headline the Kansas City Youth for Christ Super Rally at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. He had a story to tell his audience of 75,000 persons, most of whom were teenagers. The country-western singer received Christ when he was 12 years old, was active in church through his teens, but drifted away from his faith when he joined the Air Force and went to Germany. In his book, “Man in Black,” Cash tells of being in jail seven times and his bout with alcohol and drugs. He describes the series of events which led to his reaffirming his faith in Christ and of the first concert he performed in many years without taking pills. The rally also featured his wife, June Carter Cash. Offered here is a button from that rally signed on the reverse by the Man in Black himself. In fine condition. Accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
