Desirable hand-addressed free frank addressed by Monroe to "David Gilston [unknown], New York" and franked in the upper right of the panel, "Dept. of State, Jas. Monroe." The panel is postmarked Aug 12, and bears a ‘Free’ ink stamp below his signature. Overall in good condition. It's worth noting that Monroe Free Frank's are amongst the toughest to obtain of the vintage Presidents with free-frank examples.Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
