The 1951 World Series would be a turning point in MLB history. With two wide eyed rookies in Mickey Mantle & Willie Mays, baseball as we know it was about to change. Offered is an unstamped baseball featuring an extensive ensemble of 31 signatures from members of the 1951 World Champion New York Yankees. Headed up by Mickey Mantle on the sweet spot, other notable signers include: Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Johnny Mize, Bill Dickey, Vick Raschi, Allie Reynolds, Billy Martin, Ralph Houk, Frank Crosetti, Jim Turner & Joe Collin. DiMaggio is commonly seen as a clubhouse on 1951 baseballs, but this signature of his is indeed deemed authentic. Add to that its position on the panel directly south of Mantle's sweet spot signature, displaying both greats at once, and you have a rarity! The ball originates from pitcher Stubby Overmire, as indicated by the number 24 penned on one of the panels. Casey Stengel's autograph has been notated as a clubhouse by the experts at PSA/DNA. The ball is in fine condition with even toning throughout and some chipping to the leather. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA & JSA.
