The Arizona Diamondbacks became the quickest expansion team to win a World Series, beating the New York Yankees in 2001, a mere four seasons into franchise history. It also happened to be the Series played only a month following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, offering a stunned nation some small degree of solace as it struggled to come to grips with the horror. As snipers kept guard from the roofs of the New York and Arizona ballparks, the Yankees and Diamondbacks produced one of the most thrilling seven-game series in the history of America's national pasttime. Offered here is an original 10K gold front office championship ring from the 2001 World Series Champion Diamondbacks' first base coach, Eddie Rodriguez. The 35 dwt ring features a large "A" with 13 brilliant cut diamonds, on a bed of 25 small diamonds, with "2001 World Champions" on the perimeter. One shank has the name "Rodriguez" with the American Flag and team name, while the other shank has the series score "D 4 - NY 3" sandwiching an image of the trophy and Bank One Stadium with "FASTEST EVER" in raised relief. Engraved inside the band is "9-11-01 Never Forget". An incredible piece of jewelry from one of the most memorable World Series' in MLB history!
