In August of 1962, The Beatles would ibe in a transitional state, replacing former drummer Pete Best with new drummer Ringo Starr due to manager Brian Epstein's request. One of the first things Epstein did following that move was release two forms of 3.5" x 5.5" Valex postcards to the public displaying the new quartet's image. Offered here is a display consisting of pieces of one of those early vintage Valex cards, with each member of the Fab Four signing next to his respective image. The postcard has been cut into two pieces, with John Lennon and Paul McCartney displaying side by side and George Harrison and Ringo Starr displaying below them. These two pieces have each been affixed to two larger off-white folded album pages, which have then both been affixed one above the other to black archival paper/cardstock, creating the finished display piece. The name plate "The Beatles" was also cut from the original postcard. Although the original postcard has been cut into pieces, any memorabilia related to a Valex postcard is a rarity, especially to be signed on their images (versus the more typical reverse, blank side of the postcard). Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
