Amelia Earhart was an American aviation pioneer and author. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937 (at 40 years old) in a Lockheed Model 10 Electra, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island, never to be seen or heard from again. This incredibly rare check, dated Aug 14, 1933, made out to herself and her husband, publisher and promoter G.P. Putnam, for the order of $184.79, has been signed off & hand written in near-mint black felt tip by Amelia Earhart. Also endorsed on the reverse by Earhart and Putnam. Overall in fine condition with typical deposit stamping. Authenticated, encapsulated & graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA.
