Mel Ott played his entire 22-year career for the New York Giants from 1926-1947. He was one of the most feared power hitters of his time, leading the National League in home runs 6 times, and he was the first National League player to hit 500 home runs. A 12-time National League All-Star, he was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1951. Ott died in an automobile accident in 1958 at the age of 49, making his signed material an always desired commodity. Offered here is a vintage government postcard signed by Ott in black ink, with the address on the opposite side being in his hand. Postmark date 1940. In overall good condition with some wear to the corners. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
