Offered here is the first ever issue of Sports Illustrated, released August 16, 1954, showing Milwaukee Braves star Eddie Mathews at bat and New York Giants catcher Wes Westrum in Milwaukee County Stadium. The cover of this issue has been signed by Mathews in silver metallic marker. In overall fine condition, the magazine does exhibit some handling wear, specifically to the spine and edges of the cover. Magazine is fully intact. Accompanied by COAs from both Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) & James Spence Authentication (JSA).
