Mickey Mantle was, quite simply, one of the best baseball players of his generation and one of the greatest members ever of the New York Yankees organization. A rookie in 1951, Mantle would play 18 seasons with the Bronx Bombers and finish his Hall of Fame career in 1968 with 536 home runs, 1,509 runs batted in, and a career batting average of .298. He was also known as a boisterous playboy with a great (if not sometimes vulgar) sense of humor. Mantle signed this 8" x 10" black and white photograph to a friend with a special inscription that reads: "To Hank, Best F----in' Wishes, Mickey Mantle. Thanks for the putter!" The signature is penned beautifully in black ink and rates a strong 8-9/10. Mantle signed items with profanity inscriptions have proven to be very valuable in the past! Includes a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
