Simply stated, Barry Bonds was one of the best hitters of all time. However, he is also one of the most controversial due to steroid allegations in the mid-1990s. He played 22 years in the big leagues, amassing not only incredible stats, but setting records along the way. Some of Bond's MLB records include 7 NL MVPs , 4 consecutive MVP awards, home runs in a single season (73), home runs over a career (762) and considered one of the most "unbreakable" records of all-time with 232 walks in one season. Prior to any controversy, Bonds would take the field during his 20s for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1993, he made the San Francisco Giants his home team, and remained with them through the end of his career in 2007. Offered here for your bidding pleasure is a 33.5 inch, 30.8 ounce ash Young Bat Company Y20 professional model baseball bat used by Barry Bonds between 1997-98 with the Giants. Featuring good use, the ball has a small crack to the handle. Bond's number of "32" is written on the knob in black marker along with an imprinted model number. Also adding to this offering is Bonds bold vintage felt tip signature to the barrel. Knowing Bonds, a few dingers left the yard with this choice lumber - whether steroid-induced or not, is up to you!
