Offered here is a 9" x 3" cut from a larger letter, handwritten completely in James Monroe's hand. The tail end of his note is present, as well as his sign off: "I have the Honor to be, Sir, with very High Consideration, your most obed. serv't, James Monroe". Scattered paper loss is present, as well as spots of toning and clear signs of age. The vertical crease has separated the segment into two pieces, however, this has not at all affected the signature, is a clean separation and has been mounted to archival paper for added support and to minimize the appearance. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
