Outside of the T206 Honus Wagner, the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle is probably the most recognizable and talked about baseball cards of all-time. During the early 1950's New York area freelance artist Gerry Dvorak would have no idea when he was hired by Bowman & Topps that he would produce portraits for a number of cards that would become some of the most valuable post-war baseball cards to ever see production. For Topps, Dvorak would produce the artwork for the most sought after card of the latter half of the 20th Century, the 1952 Topps Mantle rookie card. Offered here is an highly desirable over sized 16" x 20" limited edition lithograph signed by both artist Gerry Dvorak & Mickey Mantle in felt tip marker. Easily one of the most impressive over-sized Mantle items one can possess! Overall in fine condition with minor handling wear. We guarantee this lot to pass PSA/DNA or JSA authentication, and full certification can be arranged for an additional fee (please contact us at info@iconicauctions.com for further details).
