While it was Mickey Mantle's destiny to play professional baseball (His father name him after legendary HOF catcher Mickey Cochrane), Mickey Mantle proved to be a triple threat in high school, playing not only baseball but basketball and football as well. This offering presents a rarely seen glimpse of Mantle with his high school basketball squad. Measuring 11" x 14", this large format image features Mantle, who sported the number "14" in his basketball days, perched along the lower right side of the photo.

Presented to Mantle for signing sometime during the late 80s or early 90s, Mickey clearly was fond of the image, as he placed a beautiful black felt tip marker signature along with a unique inscription that reads, "No. [14],+7, NYY, 1951-68." Even after checking with multiple sources in the hobby, this is possibly the only basketball image ever signed by The Mick. Furthermore, it is the only item we've found to bare this extensive and unique inscription.

Attractively double matted and housed in an attractive wood finish framed display. Mantle collectors take notice! Accompanied by a full letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
