Mickey Mantle, a man of much success, yet always had a soft spot for collectors. We have heard from multiple sources that he was amazed that his fans wanted his autograph, and in an attempt to please those people, developed a beautiful, fluent, consistent signature once he reached superstar status in the 60's. Mantle would also have his own collection, admiring the greats before & after him on the diamond. One of the Mick's prized possessions was this 500 Home run multi-signed bat by all 11 original members in blue felt tip: Mantle, Williams, Aaron, Mays, Banks, Killabrew, Robinson, Jackson, Mathews, Schmidt & Banks. Auction-style letters of authenticity from PSA/DNA and James Spence Authentication (JSA) stating the family's (Mantle) estate auction & Mantle Family LOA from the sale.
