ULTRA RARE Kiss Tribute Compilation Featuring Nirvana :: Signed by Kurt & Dave :: The Only Signed Example We've Ever Seen!A common practice for up-and-coming bands is to provide songs for compilations. A practice that was popularized in the 1980s, it became an effective method for bands to get their music out in the hopes of gaining a larger audience, and in some cases, hopefully catching the ear of a searching album rep.
Such was the case when an emerging punk rock band named "Nirvana" from Seattle provided their version of "Do You Love Me?" for the 1990 compilation release "Hard to Believe", which showcased an array of punk bands covering KISS songs. Released by C/Z Records in 1990, the album received little initial fan fair, but is now sought by fans and collectors due to the fact that it contains an early Nirvana track.
Offered here is an original CD release of the album, boldly signed on the back cover of the CD booklet by Kurt Cobain ("Kurt") and Dave Grohl (According to the consignor, while Grohl was not the drummer on the track and warned that he wasn't, he did accommodate the autograph request when asked).
A compounding rarity, not only is the CD itself difficult to find, but this stands as the first and only authentic signed example that we've seen in 20 years. Impressive! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from music autograph authority Roger Epperson/REAL Authentication. Also accompanied by a detailed Letter of Provenance outlining the details of how the signatures were acquired.
